Etsy Raises Regulatory Operating Fees in Several EU Markets

From June 22, 2026, the regulatory fee percentage Etsy adds to cover local digital-services taxes rose in the UK, France, Italy and Spain - with France's rate more than doubling. Core listing and transaction fees stayed unchanged.

What's changing

The increase is a regulatory pass-through, not a change to Etsy's own take rate - it reflects rising digital-services tax rates several EU governments have imposed, which platforms are required to collect from sellers. France's rate more than doubling makes it the most significant single-market impact in this round of changes.

Who's affected: Sellers shipping to or based in the UK, France, Italy and Spain - sellers outside these markets see no change to their fee structure.

What to do about it

  • Check your Etsy payment account settings for the updated regulatory fee percentage in affected markets.
  • Factor the new rate into pricing for listings that sell primarily into these countries.
  • Revisit pricing again if a government adjusts its digital-services tax rate later in the year.
