Amazon Vine
Amazon's invitation-only review program: trusted reviewers (Vine Voices) get free units of new products and write honest reviews.
In practice
Brand Registry sellers enrol eligible ASINs in Vine from Seller Central and provide a set number of free units; Amazon distributes them to Vine Voices, chosen for their review history. Sellers can't contact or choose reviewers, and reviews post with a Vine Voice badge. Amazon charges an enrolment fee per parent ASIN, and not every category is eligible.
A brand enrols a newly launched ASIN in Vine and gets its first reviews before starting Sponsored Products campaigns.
Why it matters
It gives a new product reviews before it has sales - which makes paid traffic convert far better at launch.
Worth knowing
- Reviews are genuinely honest, so only enrol a product that's ready - Vine Voices will post negative reviews.
- There's no guarantee every unit gets reviewed.
- Use Vine to seed a new ASIN, then rely on Request a Review for ongoing review velocity.
