Peak Fulfillment Fee
A temporary per-unit surcharge Amazon adds to FBA fulfillment fees during the holiday season; in 2026 it runs from October 15 to January 14.
In practice
Amazon applies it across FBA, Remote Fulfillment with FBA, Multi-Channel Fulfillment and Buy with Prime, on top of the normal per-unit fee. For 2026 Amazon says the increase averages $0.32 per unit, the same as last year, and its fuel and logistics surcharge applies on top. Rates are shown in the Revenue Calculator and the Fee and Economics Preview Report.
A seller whose item pays a $3.50 fulfillment fee sees about $3.82 per unit in the peak window, so a promotion priced for the old fee quietly loses margin.
Why it matters
A fee that is small per unit becomes a real margin cut on low-priced, high-volume products, and it lands in the same weeks when sellers cut prices for promotions.
Worth knowing
- It applies only to units fulfilled inside the peak window, not to units that ship before or after it.
- It is added to the standard fulfillment fee, so check the preview report for each SKU's real total.
- Q4 storage fees are also higher, so slow stock costs more to hold at the same time.
